ddalder came down to hang out this last week, and we did the turn signal mod. Not a simple/cheap mod by any means.

Here I am cutting out the piece of the heating element so the LED's can shine through.
Image

Here I am removing the adhesive stuck to the glass
Image

The decal is applyed, so that the LED light will only shine through the holes.
Image

Here we etched the surface of the glass.
Image

Here Darcy is working on the LED module we pulled from some DE7 Lesabre mirrors.
Image

Here is the module, notice how the LED's are facing outwards at an angle, so motorists can see you more if they are in your blind spot.
Image

Here I am doing some testing on the alignment of the LED's
Image
Image
Image

...and the placement of the LED module
Image

During the mod, we replaced the sealant on all 4 door watershields
Image
Image
Image

Here is the glass ready to be installed
Image
Image

And Darcy snapping on the mirrors
Image

Here are some completed pics... sorry its raining, I'll try to get better ones later.

This shows what the glass looks like when its etched.
Image

Here is with the LED's on...
Image

And a short video...
Image

We also replaced the regular lightbulb that illuminates the ring around the ignition key with a blue LED. Here is the harness

No, but it really makes me want to signal at every possible time now

FYI, for you that don't have a 00+ Bonnie, that ignition light only lights up when you get in the car, it doesn't stay on.

Its just a 5mm LED and a 680 Ohm resistor, the harness we made was only to make it easier to connect to the original harness.

Where do you have to run the wires to that attach to the mirror blinkers? Do they have to run all the way to the fuse box in the hood, or where?

They look pretty good. Don't know if I would take the effort to do it myself (lazy), but good job!

We ran them to one of the main connector harnesses under the steering column.

Remove the dash bezel
Remove the radio
Remove the 2 - 10mm bolts that hold the ignition cylinder in
Insert key into ignition and turn to run
Use a small screwdriver to press in tab on side of igntion cylinder while you pull out the ignition cylinder
Image
Slide the ignition switch straight back and then out through the radio hole
Twist bulb holder out of the bracket and start modding.

If you need pics for this, let me know.

I remember wondering who would do this mod next. Good work on that. How many times have your door panels taken off so far? :) Ever needed to replace the plastic thingies that hold the door panels in place?
