Well, here she is:
Image
I don't think I've posted up any pics of my car with the new wheels. They are 17" rims from a newer Grand Prix and Hankook Optima 727, 100k mile tires. So far I love the tires. (I still think I like my old torque stars though) :???:

And this is today:

And still runs like a top. I hope to take her one a few more trips this summer and rack up some more miles.

Is it wrong that I WANT to drive my car and put a ton of miles on it, when everyone else is afraid of resale value?

When you got this many miles you don't have any value to lose to keep on trucking until the rust takes her away :P

Tried selling it in the summer of '10 and I had a guy tell me that "once a car gets over 200,000 miles, the engine has severe internal damage" and someone else offering $250 to use it for parts. I told him "a nice little no" and that is when I decided to spend money on her and get her in good shape and keep forever. $1100 later: after gutting the whole inside, with new struts, new UIM/LIM, a few brake lines, some bondo and some paint...and a little spray foam and I have one of the most solid car I have EVER driven. (And one of the cleanest interiors I have seen. It rivals our 2011 Routan)

The car looks great with the new rims!!!

And for the milestone...very impressive!!! I totally agree with resale value..I never plan to get rid of my bonny, and I dont really care what she's worth to others..SHE'S MINE!! haha

How long do you think until 300k?

Congrats on the mileage. Definitely keep her till she can't stay together no more!
As for the wheels, part of me is saying they are out of character but the other is saying that they look *dang* good. Kinda wanna see a day time shot of them.

Thanks everyone. I was told the rims were from an 05-07 Grand Prix. That is all I know.

I am the same. I kinda like them but kinda feel they aren't quite right for the Bonneville. Now some chrome torque stars would be hot!

I should probably hit 300k by the end of 2012 (hopefully before the world ends :P), maybe sooner depending on how many trips I/we take in this car.

I like those wheels! Better than torque stars though...IDK. Congrats on the mileage! I'll hit 60k in about a month in mine. It's never leaving me, I'd love to see that number on my dash someday!

Keep up on the maintenance and you may be surprised. There have been lots of member going well past 200,000 on mostly original drive-trains....others aren't so lucky. Keep the fluids clean and full and 150,000 is just one of many milestones! :btruestory:

:withstupid: It's all about how you keep it up, I've seen many of these cars go very high in mileage, beaten or not, with proper maintenance. :btruestory:

If you like driving like you said you do, you should get that 300K by the end of spring. I rack up a lot of miles, 65mi roundtrip for 5 days a week and I drive EVERYWHERE. Plus any resale value of your car is gone anyways, so it doesnt matter how many miles are on yours.
