Just a little something I thought I would do, so I myself have something to come back to and see the ( hopeful ) progress made .. Nothing to exciting for the first vid here taken from my phone on a back country road, but its a start :)

My stock 2000 SSEi - Every mod will get a progress vid updated with dates and added to the OP

God I always forget how quiet stock S2's are...

For reference, here's a vid of my SSEi with an intake and a 3.6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2rnxlmeIrc

Also something I read got me curious.

ZZP says that when dropping pulley size the Bonneville should always be .1-.2 larger than those in the grand prixs. Any reason for this? Heat? Weight?

I doubt it. From the factory Bonnevilles actually have a less restrictive exhaust, and that's basically the only difference. If you look at the stock GP (and all W-body) exhaust it's amazing the car is able to breathe at all with the u-bend.

The reason is that ZZP doesn't know WTF they're talking about, and is part of the reason I'm not a fan of them.

IIRC, Grand Prixs have more aggressive timing stock as well.. which means that makes even less sense.

Yeah. I will never have a ZZP sticker on my car, and I'm definitely not gonna go out of my way to buy parts from them unless they build a super mousetrap. Not saying their parts are any worse, but the people behind them definitely don't care about us, they just care about money, as evidenced from reports of their customer service.

And yes, quiet as in no blower whine.

Not bad Matt. You seemed quicker than Ed because he spun so much on the launch. ;)

That's about right for the 1/4. You will just shift to 3rd at the end for a second or so. Try an control the launch so the tires don't spin more than the first 20 feet. If you spin, you lose.

Lol. Yea it sucks.

As far as service. Intense has been the best for me Usually immediate call backs or emails and the guys are always helpful and informative

Bottom line is this. I WANT to go with a cam but I don't know if I wanna pay $1000 with labor for one. A mod list of PCM, intake,3.3 pulley, tb spacer, 180stat , 104s, headers and a full 3" exhaust all the way back " should " get me to where I wanna be. But I just need some motivating because as of now I am still at a standstill. :(

Nice my first photo finish e-race ;)

The search is also on for anyone within a few hrs ( 4 hrs or so ) of Duluth mn that could tune everything once it's all done.

I would not go below a 3.5-3.4 w/o rockers or a cam. Period. Most of the stage 1 cammed people run 3.4's on the street.

I can run a 3.1 on the street but for practicality....and mileage reasons....I run a 3.4. ;)
When I want to race I run the 2.9.

You also have 1.9's, Headers and W/M injection.

Why do intense and ZZP list a 3.4 pulley with just their level/stage 1 kits then? From what I have seen so far a ZZP downpipe for the bonne and 3" the rest of the way back should take care of any kr correct?

As for lifters, I'm seeing no higher than a 1.84:1 with stock springs , due to the 1.9s creating valve float

I don't know why Intense sells a 3.4 with their Stage 1. I had 6° KR with my 3.4. Still have KR w/ a 3.6, up to 3°.

I would go to 90# springs with rockers (not lifters) or a cam. That will allow your car to rev higher.

You will not need a 3" exhaust. Headers or a 3" DP into 3" HF cat into your stock exhaust will be fine. Any other mods at your level will only affect sound, and in a negative way, IMO.

I could easily run the 3.4 with only headers and CAI.
Ya, the W/M injection will support a 2.9 but all other mods support the 3.1 without KR. ;)

I agree Paul. The first things to do are make sure that boost and air can get in and out. My stock manifolds and DP are really hurting me. I don't know what I want to do at this point, put on my DP or go cheap headers.

Huh? Valve float?! I'm good to 6400 rpm ....................with 90 lbs springs and Titanium retainers.

Matt, if I were you I'd just free up the exaust and intake, stay cool with a 180 stat and tune your PCM, then run a 3.4. You'll be good for high 13's or low 14's which is as good as the ol 60's musclecars were running stock and should keep a big grinn on your face. :king:

Like I've said before. The TOG headers were my best investment. Don't go cheap, unless you want to get rid of the Bonne in a year or two. I haven't had any problems with the TOG's in 6 years. I might not put many miles on her but when I do, it never sees less than triple digits (MPH). :btruestory:

The lesser headers have smaller primary tubes and inferior seals. You won't be happy.
