I sure know I don't post enough on here, I've been busy with school and work lately, but I snapped a few pics of my Lesabre the other day and thought I'd share them here. I need to start getting on here more often to increase my knowledge haha.

Also, I still haven't had the time to do my LIM and UIM job yet, but I got the parts ordered and they should be here in a week or so. My friend is going to help me with the job, so I'll get pics from that as soon as we can both get a few days off.

I just need to get some free time so I can get that LIM fixed and make sure that the engine is in as good shape as the rest of the car :)

Good looking Buick. I've always liked the way the Lesabre's ride. You can't beat the feeling of driving a couch down the expressway! Plus, the tall gearing makes for some seriously awesome gas mileage.

Looks like mine!

These will go like bats outta h$#^ on the highway. At 75 mph I'm just cracking 2000 RPM. The flip side of that is that 60 mph will return 34-35 mpg regularly.

Get that thing tuned, port the LIM if you can, put poly bushings on the swaybar endlinks, and enjoy a completely different rolling couch.

That's the plan as soon as I do my LIM job, I'm just strapped for cash right now, darn bills :(
But as soon as I do get the cash, I'm getting the LIM ported and then putting on all new gaskets/UIM etc, NGK plugs and a full tune up.

I'd really love to put a tach in this thing, any suggestions Lesabre in Buffalo? I'm assuiming you have a tach in yours since you mentioned you aren't cracking 2k on the highway.

You can swap clusters. My old LeSabre had a factory tach.

(Best pic I could find)

Nice LeSabre, enjoy it. Despite the problems mine was starting to have (168k miles) I miss it. The car, not the repair bills, lol.

I bought a ScanGauge II. It's mounted in the ashtray. One of the displays on the SG is a tachometer. Otherwise there's no tach on my car.

What problems did you start to have LesabreUltra? Every now and then mine will take about 20-30 seconds to start when it's cranking, but i'm hoping that will be fixed with a new fuel filter, plugs/wires, and maybe a new battery. Other than that it rides better than my dads '08 HHR (I hate the bodies on those things by the way)

And does anyone know how much a cluster would be?

Mostly transmission stuff. Car was really well taken care of...except for the transmission. It's a shame, it had a lot of life left but I couldn't keep up with it. New owner is enjoying it though.

Gauge cluster:

I've had mine out before when I pulled the dash...

But obviously all that is not necessary to get the instrument panel out lol. You will have to remove some things though, I can't remember offhand exactly what all had to come off.

Hmm that might be worth looking into. Thanks for the links guys. I think the cluster might be more practical than the scan gauge just for the price difference haha.

Sorry to post this so late, but I've been seriously thinking about buying an instrument panel from a lesabre limited since it has the tach and other guages in it.

Now for the actual question part. My lesabre has 98,002 miles on it currently. The cluster i'm looking at on Ebay only has 50k or 70k on it, depending on the one I buy.
How can I move the odometer forward on the new instrument cluster so that it matches the one in my lesabre so that it's accurate haha. I know there's some controversy in asking this, due to the fact that some people could use this to wind their odometers back and make it seem like the car has less mileage. but I would like to use this in a legal manner to make sure the new panel will have accurate readings for my car.

Thanks, Joseph

Get a ScanGauge II. It's all the functionality of the gauge cluster in a little pod that can move from car to car. Plus it takes 5 minutes to install, most of which is figuring out how the heck to get the cable through the ashtray. For $150, it sure beats ripping apart your dash for the same functions.
