This was done yesterday, and I left the parts at work afterwards (WCBF'ers will understand the graphic on the blower):

Getting to work this morning after the bearings arrived:

And then back home for the assembly:

That's how we delivered it today. Had to touch up a spot on the rotor plate, but the plug wires will cover it well. All in all, it came out pretty good.

Due to working Saturday night and then my daughter (Elizabeth) having a birthday yesterday, I did not get much done.

I am real happy the way the SC turned out. As usual, Bill did an excellent job of rebuilding this for me. I have no doubts anything will go wrong when I fire this thing up which will hopefully happen before I go to bed tonight.

No word from Jordan yet, but what can you expect from a 21 year old on a Sunday.

Todays progress so far:

Crap! I forgot one finishing touch. I actually have a small box of a dozen of the little foam filters for the BCA. Was going to pop one on yours. Next time I'm there or you're here.

Grrr.....more of a joke than anything, but a nice finishing touch too. Drop 'er in! (and leave that SC for last so you don't scratch it up....the pulley will be easier to install when it's bolted down).

Edit: I see hints of orange. You using Permatex 27b also?

Patiently waiting on me. I am taking a break and cracking a beer open while waiting for Jordan. Just called him and he is on his way.

Car runs great. I was a little worried when I was hearing a rattle from the nose drive. Got my hearing device out to investigate and it was real prominent at the bearing right behind the pulley.

Then I remembered.....................................I forgot to tighten the bolts holding the pulley to the hub. I couldn't tighten them while it was running so I had Jordan shut it off. Once tightened, the noise went away.

Here are a few pictures from today and a video at the end.

Out of the ashes rose:

1. Stronger bottom end, same performance cam and headers.
2. Lightly ported cylinder head inlets.
3. Port-matched LIM with coolant ports blocked.
4. Ported, polished, coated, and fully rebuilt M90 with custom laser work.

Not bad at all.

Track day at PIR is planned. Heard from Matt and Wendy on the road. Running REALLY well, both have noticed a remarkable increase in power. Scans show a good possibility to drop to a 3.2", possibly year-round. Matt also told me he bypassed the radiator in the trans cooling loop and is running ONLY the monstrous big trans cooler up front, which is another benefit. Trans is running cooler than ever.

160° thermostat is also in.

In terms of drivetrain loss, added power, thermal efficiency, and the ability to pulley down, the car is running right now somewhere in the 20-25hp gained mode, with another 25 possible now that the 'supporting mods' are in place.

Wendy and I just got back. We did a 70 mile trip and it is running great. Car is cooling in the drive so I can change the oil and check all fluids and inspect for any possible leaks or issues.

On another note, I want to thank everyone for their help from the time we pulled off the highway from the initial breakdown up until now. Everyone from WCBF helped in some way. Either helping push the car into the driveway or taking my kids back to Bill's so we weren't all stranded together. I also want to thank Bill for the rebuild and P&P of the LIM and SC. Jordan for being here and helping with the beer drinking, I mean the wrench turning and install of the new motor. I appreciate the help from everyone, Thanks Pontiac Bonneville Club!

Here is a little video while going down an on ramp to the highway. as soon as I merged into traffic, I noticed a motorcycle patrolman had someone pulled over on the shoulder looking back at us. I wasn't speeding any more by then.

If he doesn't run 13's now....he's got a chicken foot!!

I think it wasn't necessary to bypass the rad for his trani cooler particularly since he changed to a 160 stat, cooler the better as long as he doesn't stress the trani when it's temp is less than 130F
Matt, what temp are you running at and after how long from a cold start?
