Well, I needed something new, the old girl was 35 years old ( 1973 ) and was passed from my Grandpa, to my Dad, to me. Runs great, but at 35 years, it just doesn't cut it anymore LOL. The deck is bent up and it cuts uneven, not to mention it has the turning radius of a bus.

Well, here it is old and busted

1973 John Deere 214 riding mower
Kohler 16 hp cast iron single cylinder thumper
46" three blade cut

SO, here is the new hotness

Huskee 70th anniversary riding mower
Kohler Courage 22 hp cast iron sleeve single cylinder thumper
597 CC!!!!
42" twin blade

Don't get rid of the JD. I know people that would kill just to have it. John Deere tractors are very sought after, you could probably fetch quite a bit of dough for it.

The Deere isn't going anywhere. I am going to restore it and make it like new again :) It has been in the family for far to long to get rid of now.

Very Nice...

Last year I got a Craftsman on sale... 46" 20 Hp Briggs single cylinder.. I only bought it because it had an oil filter... And that reminds me, its due for an oil change :)

Yeah, that is one more thing, full pressure lubrication with an automotive type spin on oil filter :)

I ALMOST bought a Craftsman, but they didn't have the one I wanted in stock and I wanted it NOW, not next week.

And the part that made me laugh was that the Briggs had " 502cc " written on it.... I laughed my A$$ off when I saw that 502 on there...lol

Ooohh that's very nice! I hear many good things about that model. Should do you well for a long time. And good move keeping that JD. She'll be very nice when you fix her up! :)

I love maintaining small engines and mowers like that. When my brother and I were doing a lawncare business, I was the mechanic. My baby was this:

Oh, how I loved that baby. Mine had the 52-inch deck. 25hp engine, and she would move fast and cut well. I'd get another one should I ever decide to start another mowing business.

ehh, hell... I debated on that for a while myself. I figured that a lawn mower belongs in the lounge, but then again I ride it, so I wasn't sure #-o I guess I had a 50 50 shot.

Yup, that's right guys, even your mods aren't perfect :bsnicker:
