Driving along then the engine cuts out. Starts right back up and off I go. Next morning, take off for a 20 mile highway journey with no problem, park the car, get my stuff then try to start my car. It starts but immediately shuts off. I call for a tow truck and while waiting the car started and ran poorly but kept running. I gambled by canceling the tow and headed home taking surface streets. I finally make it home almost 3 hours later with many cutouts and restarts. I swap out the ignition module with a good spare I had with no improvement. I then swap out the maf, again with a good spare and that proved to be a culprit. never experienced that before.

Glad to see you were able to figure it out. My recollection with the '93 was that if the MAF was a problem you could disconnect it to limp home/rule it out. It did not run very well, but at least avoids the cutting out scenario.

Thanks Matt. that's the first thing I tried after realizing it was the maf. I would have saved myself a lot of hassle had I done that early on. Now I have to clean the black crud from my chrome exhaust tips.
