I have to agree on the colour. Yours is much nicer. I don't know, the other red screams "Toyota Corolla" to me. Hopefully I'm not offending anyone out there with a G8 in the lighter red.

I always loved my Liquid Red, but everybody has different taste. I pretty much like a Holden vehicle in any color though.

I guess it is a small world.
I was down in your area (Elgin) last Friday with my nephew picking up a Bonneville from Copart.
That is quite an operation they have.
One last question.
Is Sears going to file chapter 11 this week?

Yea, then I was back up there last Sunday to get the old van.

That whole area over there between 20 on the north, West Bartlett Road on the south, and Gifford on the west is like an auto junkyard heaven. I'm on the other side of Elgin though, out by Randall Road. Did you go in off of 20 and Shales Parkway/Bluff City? If so that's the intersection I go through every morning/night going to/from work. Going west, from south Shales Parkway, it is a nice sweeping curve that I LOVE to blast through with the Cadillac and well now, the G8 before you actually merge into west 20 traffic.

Speaking of work, rumor is tomorrow (Monday) morning. I'm actually somewhat shocked because I thought, that once in Bankruptcy protection, ESL (the majority shareholder), loses control in the process. Anyway, I, among many experts figured it would be this weekend that it would be announced because the markets are closed. The funny thing was, it has been REAL quiet, and I mean that in the fact there is little "chatter" going on in regards to it.

Thanks Will. :)

Dropping in late, but I approve.

I agree with Will, I haven't seen a factory color on a G8 I didn't like. I've seen red, white, black, blue, and silver, but I haven't seen one with your color yet. I like that color.

(Colour, for you :canada: )

I second that notion.

Put the WeatherTech liners in tonight. I put all the floormats strategically in the trunk, along with some nice ones I had in my Tahoe years back (the option GM accessory ones with the heavy rubber bottom and the nice cut pile on top). This way when I do the axlebacks, it isn't as obtrusive inside the car. :)

I came home tonight and the dog didn't even hear me (to warn the wife). So I remarked to her that I need louder mufflers... :)
Axlebacks. That's what got me into the GXP. Wife heard the gurgle and had to have it. Who am I to say NO? I don't notice much droning inside the car with them; I actually kinda like to hear a little tone back there.

Yea, I have a guy with 2015 SS mufflers I may pick up. They're slightly louder than the G8's.

Mine admitted last night that it was too quiet because she nor the dog heard me. :) So I need to make it a little louder.

Things I'd like to do to my G8:
OTR intake

Things my son says I need to do to my G8:
Long tube headers

I would, but I don't know what's going on with imgur. It freezes up both my chrome and IE browsers.

And speak of the devil, as I mention the LED fogs, one was out tonight. Grrr...

x3 Looks good. Great color. It reminds me of the garnet red available on the 92-99 Bonnie, which is my favorite factory color for those years.

Well, the infamous G8 Spoiler Fairy got me Saturday at the car wash. Tore the decorative top portion off the bottom ladder mount. I ended up having to break off the ladder too. Figuring it wasn't going to be reusable anyway...

So now I am trying to get an aftermarket one from Bodykits Kingdom down under. But I, as a couple others I seem to understand, are having trouble going through their cart checkout process.

With that said, Sunday, I spent some time getting as much of the adhesive off as I could. There is still some there, but it's almost part of the paint. I then took the FLEX to the trunk lid (which looked like someone scraped a 180grit piece of sandpaper across it to begin with), with a Lake County orange pad and some 3M scratch remover to excellent results. At least I thought they were compared to my starting point...

Yes, those are chunks of paint you see gone. I think this spoiler was replaced or something before I got the car. I was actually going to so spoilerless like my GTO, but trunk lid on this car doesn't have the built in ducktail like the GTO, so it just doesn't pull it off the same.

That's a bummer.

Are there touchless washes in your area? My understanding is that it's a trade off due to harsher chemicals but I still go that route.

Touchless doesn't get anything off, namely road salt. So unfortunately you gotta have contact to do that. :)

It's a daily, it can go through a wash. It'll get a once a year detail.
