So, in Stan's post the other day, talking about chicken ranching, he was referring to me, lol. I've switched jobs, my dad founded a company that will be raising chickens in IA, MN and WI, and I've taken a job with the company, I'll be dealing with mainly equipment and logistics once we get things rolling. I can give a little better explanation of why we started a new chicken biz later, but I've been sick for a few days, so my brain is frazzled.

Anyways, part of the perks of the new job is a company truck. Since I'll be dealing with equipment, etc, I needed something that could tow large trailers, so I present you:

2016 3500HD LTZ Z71 Duramax. Basically every option available, heated/cooled seats, MyLink w/ XM and 4G LTE through OnStar, and the LML Duramax with 397HP and 765FT/LBS. I wish I could have waited till the new '17's came out with 445/915, but that just wasn't in the cards, lol.

And why did I name it Ernie? Well, it has a reference to chickens:

Ernie is the Giant Chicken that Peter gets into those ridiculous fights with in Family Guy.

As for the Yukon, Mom and Dad are actually going to take over the payments on it, and sell their Suburban. Works out pretty well for everyone.

Nice, wish I could afford an Ernie.

Yeah, it's getting pretty ridiculous what these new pickups cost with just a few options...

Approve.

I'd love one of those new D-Max's too, but they're getting to the point where it's simply too much. Even the bragging between the Big 3, with ford at 925, GM at 920, and Chrysler following. At the end of the day, the differences amount to deck chairs off the Titanic. 900lb/ft of torque is gonna get work done regardless.

Hell, I remember in 2001 when 300/520 out of the first Duramax was enormous, lol. It's amazing how quickly that's changed. I'm thinking this will suit my needs just fine, lol.

And Mike, it is very comfortable. One of my coworkers was commenting how nice the seats were. They're supportive in all the right spots.

Excellent. And, even better, it's a company truck so you don't get the payment. Double bonus.

My favorite chicken is Foghorn Leghorn, although sometimes he's more loud-mouthed schmuck than chicken.

Naw, you just bulldoze through.

When I had my big, 2500HD, in downtown Chicago, it barely made it through downtown parking garages. It WAS a fish out of water though at a party once at one of the swanky hotels amongst Mercs, BMW's, Jag's (the car), Aston's, a few Roll's, etc... Then there is this big, extended cab, 4x4 Chevy truck... :)

Parallel parking isn't the bitch, it has a backup camera and front and rear sensors. The real bitch is parking in tight lots. Took me 3 spaces this weekend to find one I could fit in in Minneapolis going to dinner with my GF and some friends.

Had the truck 2 weeks, and already have 2500 miles on it. Towed my new-to-me skid steer a couple of times, and while the mileage while towing isn't great (~12-13) it tows like it's not even there. I'm assuming that as the motor "loosens up"/breaks in, it'll get better mileage. All the emissions *shoot* on it doesn't help, but deletion isn't an option...

Picking up the new skid steer and trailer:

Well, made a run to Tractor Supply Co looking for tool boxes and ended up scoring a decent deal, $202 for a matte black PC lo-pro toolbox. I needed to get some tools with me, and get a bunch of crap off of/out from under my backseat. *dang* thing is already 85% full...
