Those of you on the book of Feces already know all of this, but I decided to post it here also.

So Yup I am referring to the one I just bought nearly a year ago. I was kind of on the fence about it at the time. It's been a good car to me, the mileage was amazing and I really enjoyed driving a manual.
I no longer have to commute anymore though since I work from home now, and i'll be moving back to Michigan soon here.

I really have too many cars and I could just as well replace the Cruze with another Regal or even my Bonneville. The manual was awesome, but otherwise the car was just too slow and it was too small to carry adult passengers around for long periods comfortably. It just didn't fit that well in my plan for which cars I'd like to own.

To me the ideal situation would be to have a decently quick DD, a car to tinker with, and a truck to use in the winter time and to help tow things around. I have the Grand Prix as the tinkering car which will also have a stick-shift, and have a few other cars I can use as a DD; what I really wanted to fill the void was a truck.

So I went and traded in the Cruze for this:

One of the first things I did was add new floor mats. This one didn't have any with it when I bought it.

Heated, power-folding mirrors with turn signals!

and here are some shots I was able to take today. The place I went to was packed with people and cars driving around, but I managed to get a few pictures with this background without getting in anyone's way:

It's a 2009 Silverado 2500HD Crew cab LT standard bed with 4WD and the Z71 package. It has the 6.0l V8 with VVT and the six speed transmission with 3.73 gears.
I would've liked to find a nice GMT800 truck , but they seem to be getting hard to find in good shape with low miles.

This one was in great shape though with relatively low miles and it had all of the important things I was looking for. It's also one of my favorite colors on a car and already came with a spray in bedliner. This will be great for towing project cars around and the 4wd will be a nice enhancement to my winter driving experiences. It will also have plenty of room for passengers if ever need to travel anywhere to pick up some other project car or something.

I'm planning on replacing the stereo and speakers in the future and am also looking at doing a retrofit in the fall for this. One of the first things I'll do when I get back home though is re-install the front tow hooks that appear to have been taken off for whatever reason, and begin the stereo install with a shallow subwoofer under the rear seat.

I've had it for a few weeks now and the mileage hasn't been too bad. In the city it averages around 12 mpg on the low end, but I was able to achieve 16 mpg on the day I took it on the freeway. I'm really looking forward to bringing this back home to Michigan and hauling some cars away!

I was going to ask if a retro is in the works. If I had space and money I'd totally get one of these.

Yeah definitely looking at a few retrofit options.

Basically what I'd like to do is mimic this:

I also found a set of plug and play fog lamps from the retrofit source:

Nice having something with a ton of aftermarket! lol

I love the late model Chevy and GMC trucks. I'm jealous, but aren't I always? ha ha ha
