So the truck has been having an issue for a while now where it stalls when idling hot. It idles fine cold but once its up to operating temperature if you put a load on the engine like holding the brake on gear or turning the steering wheel in park. It gets so bad that it will stall repeatedly at a traffic light unless I hold the brake and give it a little throttle.

So far I haven't replaced anything, my prime suspect is the idle air control valve. I tested the resistance according to the hanes manual and the IAC tested fine. I unplugged it while running and the truck continued to run unchanged.

My mechanic friend says he thinks its the TBI gasket but I am unsure since everything I have read indicates the IAC is the culprit. What should I do first?

Resurecting this just to provide an update, last month I got fed up and put the truck I'm the shop, it turns out the distributer was worn out and was making it stall one new distributer later and it runs perfect again.
