In the form of GXP wheels, Got them for $500 off ebay a few months ago.

New rotors and pads in the front along with the calipers i painted a few weeks ago

I think the wheels fit the Aurora pretty nicely, and they came from a N* powered car and went on a N* powered car. (The Aurora is a technically a N* just a 4.0 rather than a 4.6, right?)

Anyways i just thought id add it here

Its Aurora powered. They even made a point to name the motor for the car, or vise versa.

Wheels look great on there. Nice price too.

Thanks. I got them off craigslist, lol dont know why i put ebay. They must be pretty identical tho, i know people have swapped these motors for the cadillac northstar. They look the same, and sadly have the same head gasket failure problem. :( Thank god ive had no problem with mine thus far. :) *knock on wood

That looks gorgeous. Love those older Auroras. I'm glad you're keeping it around and in good shape.

I miss my '98.

For some reason Bonneville GXP wheels make any GM car look good. There is just something about them.

Looks nice! I was going to get one prior to me buying my Bonneville, but I am so afraid of that inevitable head gasket failure on the Northstar engine that I decided against it. GM should have thrown a 3.8L in there too. Always will be a nice looking car though!

If they had put in a 3800, few would've bought an Aurora. The whole thing is that it was a premium car and everything was a showcase around the silky smooth Aurora V8 and it's immensely stiff unibody structure. Putting a 3800 that was shared with a Grand Prix would've "cheapened" the car.

And front wheel drive didn't cheapen the car? I get where you're coming from though, just jabbing at GM for FWD use in supposed luxury cars meant to compete with Europe and Japan RWD cars.

Yup, those GXP wheels suit the car. Enjoy!

I can also attest to ownership of a beautiful pearl white 2001 Aurora 4.0. Even to this day I miss that car immensely, premium everything with those awesome 17" chrome wheels (which I still have btw) and enjoyed that N* punch every time :) .

Unfortunately a goon of a driver decided to make an immediate lane change onto us which damaged the car beyond what the insurance company was willing to repair.

One could argue that the people they were targeting didn't care which axle drove the car. Most people on the road, if you asked them which axle on their car drives it, they'd shrug and go "I dunno..."

Regardless, of which axle it did turn, the car was pretty well regarded for it's stiff structure and it's NVH values due to that structure, which is utimately what most people wanting a premium luxury sedan want. Quiet, smooth, effortless, and power.

Quote:
The Aurora was highly regarded at the time for its refined engine, excellent build quality, well-balanced ride, and structural integrity. In fact, during normal crush-to-failure tests done by automakers to evaluate body rigidity, the Aurora's unibody construction actually broke GM's testing machine.[11] A frame-crusher otherwise used to test stronger truck frames had to be used instead, with the car exceeding federal standards for passenger cars by two times.
