The fuel mileage shouldn't be too awful bad... according to DICs, my TC stayed within a few MPGs of the GP...

This one doesn't have DIC but a rough calculation shows 11-12mpg so far.

Haven't been able to calculate exactly yet. But it was probably 70% city.

When I read the bit about it being an ex-cop car I thought 'yay!'. They might work hard for a living, but police cars are often meticulously maintained...

...then I saw that it was also an-ex Chicago cab. Oh dear.

Still, what a car! I'd love a Crown Vic. A lot of car for the money too.

I got my DIC to hit 28mpg on a 120 mile highway trip once. And I would think the Crown Vic would be lighter... but I guess on the same hand maybe the P71 stuff hurts it a little? Idk just thinking out loud lol.

I have some good friends that have owned 3 '94-95 Crown Vics/Gr Marquis all with the police package motor/suspension. Not sure what they got for city/mixed driving, but on highway trips, 24-25mpg was normal, with an occasional 26. They since bought an '01 Continental (FWD) with the aluminum DOHC 32V 4.6L, and regularly get 25-27, occasionally 28mpg. And that thing is a real sleeper...even though it's a boat of a car, it really doesn't handle that bad and it really moves with 275hp on tap.

My grandpa also has a Crown Vic police package, and gets about the same as these friends do...23-25mpg highway, occasionally 26-27 on really good days. All these numbers are hand-calculated though.
