Fixing the dent in the tank and prepping it for paint is taking longer than anticipated. I somewhat expected that to be the case though. There is some slightly more than surface rust that I can't rely on a wire wheel to remove it all, so I've come up with another idea to use evaporust to fix this. Goal is to have the tank, side covers, rear cover and front fender in primer by tomorrow.

I found an affordable option for pearl white. It's a three stage paint; base, pearl, clear. Apparently there is a two stage pearl white, but it's nowhere near as nice looking. I also got a metallic teal that I liked that was also affordable. There were some decent options for $60-$90 a pint. I was also looking around online at some teal pearl powder that I might try a light mixture in the clear over the top of the metallic teal to make it pop a little more. I'll have to make some test panels first.
