When I turn my ac on, I see visible freon on the bottom of the ac compressor around the I guess pressure valve, is it. Normal? I have a pic but don't know how to upload

Visible, like hot steam coming out of a teapot "visible"? Not normal. If the connections are tight, fix the leak. If you run the AC compressor without freon and the oil in it, it'll destroy the compressor.

:stupid:

Is it gas escaping or frost on the compressor body?

Any escaping is too much.

I haven't looked close enough to know if or where a relief valve is. Does your compressor cycle every few seconds when the AC is on, or does it run constantly?

Sounds like it may be venting excessive pressure then. I'm not sure, but that may mean the pressure switch is bad.
