Ding! Ding!

We have a winner.

It's a 1990 Cadillac Eldorado.
Pearl Tri-Coat Exterior with Red Leather Interior
4T60 tranny and 4.5 V8 180 HP and 245ft-lb. She's no slouch, I'll tell ya that.
Has 152,000 miles. I'll get more pictures when it's light out.

Everything works so far inside and the seats are worn but still in decent condition.
Center Armrest is chewed up as well as the arm rest on the door. Overall everything is solid but needs a good cleaning.

Outside the car is very solid, very little rust. Only rust is some paint bubbles around door moulding and the underside is very clean. Has most of the original undercoating. But about half the paint had peeled off the hood.

Ran and drove pretty good. (It had more power than I thought) Although there was some clunking when shifting which seems like its a worn out mount somewhere.

Car rides decent but you can tell the struts are worn.

It had a brand new alternator and AC compressor and the air works.

ONLY downside was....the check engine light is on. I normally am more leery but it ran and drove good and the price was reasonable.

What is reasonable?

I'm guessing $800.

Well, I'm gonna let people guess at the price until they see the better pics tomorrow.

Well its more like bi-coat now cuz half the paints gone  lol but whatever. Its a first time car for a 15 1/2 year old so it doesn't need to be perfect.

It will get a good cleaning soon though.

Nice... love those aluminum block Caddies....well the 4.9. The 4.1 is a joke and the 4.5 still has some issues.

I've always lusted after a 1991 STS with the 4.9.

This! Yes. Especially black on black. But they are impossible to find in good condition anywhere.

I have always love the eldorado and wanted a Caddy and now the little bro gets one before me. WTF?

And surprisingly the cost of parts for this car are similar or cheaper than my '97. I was surprised by this.

Yeah I was reading how the 4.1 was prone to failure of the intake manifold gasket due to scrubbing of the bi-metal interface, aluminum oil pump failure, cam bearing displacement, weak aluminum block castings and bolts pulling the aluminum threads from the block.

WOW. 4.1 = JUNK

But on the cadillac forums they were telling me the 4.5 was a good engine. They said just make sure there's no coolant leaks and it'll be fine. OH and the oil filter!! It is amazing. It is right next to the airbox. So easy to change. I might have to get one of these cars just for that :P

All that luxury and a 4.5 V8? Not bad for a teenager's first car!

I like this generation of Eldorado, and if fate had put one my way before the Bonneville turned up for sale I might have ended up buying one myself.

Be weary of the head gasket issues they are known for.
One of my favorite body styles of that era.

Did the 4.5 have the headgasket problem?

I checked the motor over with a flashlight and it was very clean. No leaks that I could see and the coolant and oil both looked good. There were no leaks anywhere and the engine bay was all dry.

Oil thing I noticed was it needs a tranny pan gasket but no big deal.

Nobody guessed the price yet....

EDIT: Pics added
Rear End-The nicest part of the car in my opinion.

I'd take a guess at $550.

My first car was a $250 1987 Volvo 740 wagon, with 380k on it when I got it. A caddy is a nice start!

Well close enough.

We payed $500 for the car.

I was kinda surprised she took that much because the price on the for sale sign was $800. And we took it for a ride and dad said how about $500 and she paused a second and said "ok, that sounds reasonable"

Didn't you just make a post asking us which cars to get rid of because you had too many cars?

It seems contradictory?

Otherwise, looks neat

Yeah but this is for my lil bro.

Offtopic:
But other ones were dads and I was trying to get ideas with the olds but now we are selling the olds and the 94 is staying the garage. The burb is dad's DD and the NEW routan is mom's DD and the 97 is my DD. And the caddy will be lil bro's DD

Oh and upon closer examination. The car has 4 matching tires. Bridgestone Insignia. The rear two are like brand new and the front two are decent.
