Thanks!

Did a 10 mile drive, and the DIC indicated 51 MPG for the drive. OMG, that's nuts! I was getting on it a little bit accelerating from the stop signs, too. Have to break in that engine!

Makes me wonder about turning in my Buick for a newer car. That's a nice trade up! I like it! More pics!

Nice car! Those rims don't fit the normal eco mentality at all, looks-wise.

I'm glad Chevy found a way to take Corolla/Civic/Elantra head on and offer a realistic alternative to the bread and butter products.

Its a great looking car and apparently its catching on. Feedback from dealers I talk to say they don't keep em on the lots long. Seems like good value for the dollar.

These cars have gotten really popular around me (Southwest MI) and the dealers are saying the same. I really hope this get GM back on there feet and the realize what the public wants and create a car to compete with competitors!!! I have actually been surprised in the amount of Volts running around as well...

The Cruzes are selling very well by me too. Most of the dealers wouldn't move on price since they're selling without cash on the hood.

After flogging mine more today, GM really put a lot of work into these. The whole car just doesn't feel like a $21k car. It feels more upscale than that. The handling is pretty good.

That's one fine looking ride! and I'm jealous of the wheels too. I hope the lack of repair bills helps make up for the monthly car note.

If GM is going to make it, it's going to need an attitude adjustment at the top. They act like the Europeans in Europe, they give you the sales pitch and when it's time to deliver, they stiff you. - BC

Found some numbers from Car and Driver.

0-60 in 7.8 seconds, 16.1 seconds in the quarter mile at 87 mph. This car is at least that quick, and with a bump in engine output should break into high 15's for the quarter mile.

Darn it, I'm wanting a tune...

I recommend Brunette. Brian is incredibly nice and helpful. He's revered overindulgence the saab community. He tunes crises and has one himself

More photos at a local park made at a flood control dam. This was me messing around with our Canon PowerShot SD780IS point-and-shoot.

With this car, it's the little things that keep impressing me. Like the DIC telling me the hood was open when it was. Or the extendable sun visors that actually cover the whole side window when extended! Of course, that's more stuff to break. At least it's cool while it works!

This doesn't feel like a $20k car. It feels more like a $25k car.

That Cruze definitely looks fantastic Dave! I'll have to keep the spirit of the rolling couch alive for you

That car should treat you good for a long time though!

Please do! There aren't enough couches left, so each one is precious.

I'm amazed with this car that it's both fast and fuel-efficient. It's also quieter at 60 mph than pretty much anything else I've ridden in, including some Lincolns and Caddys. In short, it's another great highway car. Then again, GM's had a lot of experience making great highway cars.

I'll try my best! Georgia hasn't started to dry rot anything yet, and it doesn't have a single spot of rust, so it should last a long time if I keep it maintained.

And the Cruze's are really nice, my dad got to drive one for a while as a rental when his HHR got totaled. He was really contemplating on buying one, but he couldn't find one in the area that was in the budget. GM definitely has the power/comfort ratio down pat. That's one of the reasons I still swear by their products :)

I did some freebie mods today. I took out the 2.5 foot long factory intake to leave just the airbox and its snorkel down into the fender. Free FWI! Likely I'll be able to hear the turbo spool more clearly. I also put some pet-proof window mesh into the grille openings to keep my A/C condenser looking new. Doing that required taking off the front bumper, which was a bit ticklish. It also required taking off the shutters that close off at 40 mph for better aerodynamics. Curses on GM for using T15 Torx screws where they will rust out! Those'll be a nightmare in a few years. Anyhow, the condenser and intercooler are well protected now, and it doesn't look half bad. Pictures later.

I also started rustproofing. 2 pounds of Fluid Film down, and 5-6 more to go.

I managed a 9.2 second 0-60 bogging really badly off the start, and shifting like dog poo. The boost dropped off, and then took a little bit to build back up. I'll have to try feathering the clutch more on the next try, and launch 500 RPM's higher so it doesn't bog as badly. I bet with practice mid-8's for this car are doable for me.
