WOW. Thanks for digging this one up...I obviously missed it.

Holy CRAP...that STS is STUNNING and the TGP is an absolute CLASSIC GM halo car. So many futuristic features packed into a midsize car. In hindsight, it's practically a miracle those ever made it into production...they seem to this day like just concept cars.

Fantastic pair of vehicles...excuse me while I end this post to go back to drooling on your STS-V for a few more minutes. =P~

Is that screen in the Grand Prix similar to the computer touch screens used in the 1989-90 Buick Reatta? I've played around with one in a 89 Reatta once, and it really amazed me that a feature now found in nearly every Audi, Lexus, BMW, etc. was in a Buick 20 years ago before anyone else had it. In the Reatta it controlled everything from the radio, to the A/C, to ejecting the tape deck (lol). It also showed engine info such as RPMs, and temps and stuff.

A buddy of mine had a red turbo grand prix that he was selling a couple years ago, it had a little more wear on it than your's though. I was looking at buying it then, I soo wish I did.

The one's in the GPs were not touch screen (BTW, they were common in all the better equipped 2-door GPs from '88 - '93 before the interior makeover). However, they contained a lot more data than most modern DICs (pretty close to what Bonnevilles had). These were the earlier LCD versions (pre-'91) that were used prior to the VFD ones. They looked cooler at night, but they didn't show as much data as the VFD ones, which could also display exactly which door/hood/trunk was open, exactly which light was out, etc. Both had a compass that revolved around the outline of the car (like the Bonne), showed avg MPG, instant (on the spot) MPG, month/date/yr/day of the week at the top of the screen, and told you when it was time to change oil/oil filter, air filter, rotate tires, tune-up, etc.

The really crazy part is the front seats on these. I think they're something like 14-way power seats, including 3-lumbar adjustments (air bladders), power headrests, side bolsters (to hug your torso), and even the thigh area was split down the middle so you could adjust the right and left leg separately. Again, similar to the SSE/is, minus the split at the thighs. I still need to do a full write up on these with pics.
