I am planning on capping off the heater hose inlet/outlet on the Rambler as the heater core leaks. It looks like I need 3/4" caps to cap off the nipples on the engine....anyone know where I can find these? None of the parts stores seem to have anything like that, nor does Sears Hardware. I have seen them before on other engines, but alas, no luck around here, unless I'm not looking hard enough. If anyone knows of a store that would carry these...lemme know.

Is there a way to just run a jumper hose in between.

Ya.. Why not just use a coupling between the two hoses?

With how close the nipples are, I'd have to use a really long piece of hose to couple them. I could probably try that, but the heater isn't going back in because of the uncommon $$$ parts needed.

The hose barbs on the engine should be threaded in. Remove them from the water pump and intake manifold, then plug with common pipe plugs (with some plumbers pipe sealant on the threads.) They are probably 3/8 or 1/2 NPT thread. AMC didn't do anything bizzare that I'm aware of.
