I have had my DTS for a little more than a year now and still love it. I get many compliments, and looks (I have to assume because of the car :???: ). It's an 03 with just over 65,000 mi on it. I put tires on it and will soon do the front brakes/rotors.
I have had two window regulators pop-and-drop, but that is a GM issue, not a fault of this car. The moonroof leaks a bit from a heavy rain, I get a few drops inside.
There was a piston knock sound in cold weather, or when engine was still cold, but that has gone away for the most part... I have to attribute that to carbon build, because I drive aggressively and probably burned that off.
I have to assume the previous owner drove conservatively, but someone on here told me the northstar doesn't like conservative drivers.
My gas mileage suffers, but I don't mind. I fill up every two weeks. I only put just over 7000 miles on it the first year I had it (I take the bus to work).
It is not quick off the line like my Bonnie was, but not an embarrasment either, and it does have an awesome sound at WOT.
There was still 3 months of extended warranty on it when I bought it, but I didn't know about it so I replaced the regulators on my own. It wasn't until I took it in for a moonroof rattle, that he told me the warranty expired the day before..(another thread)

There are no defects in the paint, no hood paint chips....only the light swirl marks which I hope will be buffed out during the detailing..
It is a VERY smooth/quiet ride. My wife drove it and was gong 80 before she realized.
I take it in for detailing on Monday, I purchased it at a silent auction fund raiser. I never had a professional detailing done. They are doing the works on it. It is at an Acura dealership. They will give me a loaner Acura.
I will get before and after pics..

All considered, this was a good purchase for me. :2thumbup:
Sorry, This is rather long, and probably should go in the lounge now that I think of it.

I've been in love with the DTS since I first learned of its existence and creature comforts...its essentially the ultimate luxury version of a bonneville.

good to know they're as awesome as I've always thought. thanks for sharing your experience!

i think i've got to make it a goal to get one someday soon.

make sure you post pics after that overhaul of a cleanup...hopefully they do one hell of a job!

I love these cars, my grandmother has had three or them in the past ten or so years and she is looking to get a new one soon to replace her current 04 (?) DHS. She's got it in that GM white lightning/pearl color with chrome OEM wheels, its a very nice looking car. I am not a fan of it being FWD, but other than that it's hard to find much wrong with the car. It rides as smooth as anything and I would totally love to drive that car every day (I'm 19).

There are many young Cadillac drivers that belong to the Cadillac forum.
Here are before detailing pictures:

They did alright. I was not blown away like the guy said I would be. There were helicopter and old pine needles under the hood by the cowling, and I see where they missed wiping up wax residue.. The rear center console still had dirt and lint in it. The rocker panels were dirty between the doors, they didnt't get in the edges of the doors, there was still some crud stuck on the rear panel behind one of the rear wheels. They looked like they dry shampooed the carpet. I would have washed them first.. The tips were not polished. I didn't even look in the trunk yet.,..
They call it detailing for a reason....I don't see the detail... I see wash, wax and shampoo. thats it.
