So on sunday I finally picked up a new project. It is a 1989 Mustang LX 5.0 five speed that is the cleanest one I have found for the price. The guy had it listed for $1500 so I grabed my dad and went to look at it. The funny thing is that when I got there it turned out that I used to work with the guy at Russ Darrow as a lot attendant about 14 years ago!! Lol! Yeah so I knew that this might be the one. I looked it all over and he fired it up and it ran very nice. I took it for a ride and was blown away by the amount of power it has and how smooth the trans shifts. The guy said that the motor is supposedly a 90 Police Interceptor from California but after decoding the block casting number it is a 91 Thunderbird 302. The only things done to the car is welded in subframe connectors, a catless H pipe with Flowmasters, short throw shifter, MSD cap, MSD coil, and Motorsport wires. Other than that it seems to be stock but I am unsure due to the ammount of power the car has and it only has a 2.73 rear end in it. It idles like a stock 5.0 but I guess a cam that is one step over stock would probabaly idle stock too. It needs a radiator, valve cover gaskets, front brakes, and has a header leak. I will be doing the radiator, brakes, and valve cover gaskets on Friday. It needs some body work that has to be finished and I am going to work on that soon too. Now for the best part I only paid $1250 for the car!! So here are some pics of it enjoy.

Nice social skills.

That's a hell of a deal for a decent fox. I'm keeping an eye out for one as well. My buddy wants it as a driver and bracket car. Nice find!

Thanks, and I just picked up a 90 LX 4cyl auto parts car for $300 delivered!!! It has all of my molding in perfect shape and the hood and nose are mint too. I started stripping it yesterday and am headed to pick up my radiator and get to work on her. I plan to do the radiator, valve cover gaskets, and front brakes today time willing. I have to meet a guy at around 2pm to pick up an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, 600 carb, chrome air cleaner, and brand new gaskets for $200!! The guy said it only has 1000 miles on them. Well I am off to the stable. I may try to take some pics and post them.

Oh nice finds: you going to change the rims, right? They just don't do the car any good...

I am planning to eventually. I love the AR outlaw 1 rims and may end up with that style only from a different manufacturer that has them bare instead of the nasty clear coated or the Chrome Cobra five star wheels I always wanted.

Lol! It's cool you don't have to like it and I don't take offense to that there is alot of people that don't like them including my wife. I finished the radiator and replaced the valve cover gaskets yesterday. Today I will be doing front brakes, inner and outer bearings and seals, and some body finishing/striping my parts car. Gonna be another long day. Lol.
