I went and looked at it this morning. I really wasn’t expecting to get it for as cheap as I wanted it. I had to sell some other parts in the cities, so it was just part of the trip. I took it for a 5 mile test drive and was very impressed. The truck runs and drives perfect. Its runs quieter than my Bonneville! It has a remote starter and aftermarket stereo, including: Clarion HU, 12 disc CD changer, and Sony speakers.
Even before we started talking prices, she mentioned that she has just planned on donating the truck and getting the tax money. (If you didn’t know, her husband committed suicide and she wanted to get rid of the truck) I started pretty low at $1200, and she came back at $1500. I thought about it for a while and then got greedy and asked for $1400. She said she needed $1500, and I agreed. Since I hadn’t planned on getting it, I didn’t bring cash. I wrote her a check and told her to mail the title when the check clears.
I was kinda scared about the mileage you guys talked about, but on the way home which was 70 miles, at 70mph, I got 14.7mpg. Not too bad I thought.
My immediate plans are to get a fender and headlight on here so I can drive it legally. I also want to find a new tire for the front to replace the damaged in the bed.
So without further ado, here is my 2001 Ram 2500 4x4, aka the Haro Hauler.

Looks pretty good! What's wrong w/ the tire in the bed? Is it cut, or just popped off? I'd see if it could be patched before trying to replace it.

I believe the current plan is to keep it for a while, and use it as a parts hauler/ car hauler.

I plan on keeping it...

The tire has a huge tear in the sidewall, you can see it in the pic.

Not a fan of Dodge at all, but I would hit that for that price any day! Great find! Not much of a surprise though from you

Nice truck for the money. My dad had a Dodge truck of that gen and loved it, but it was on its third tranny. Do you plan to drive it as is or fix it up? If it were mine, I couldn't help it, I'd have to fix all the rust and body damage, add some Bushwacker fender flares, and repaint it. That could be a lot of money, or a lot of learning if you don't know bodywork, though. Either way, nice buy.

I wish my truck sat that high and was 4x4. You should put some all terrain's on there and get her dirty!

have you owned a truck before? you may end up liking it more than the Ville(s). I don't ever see myself buying another car, unless we're talking sports/muscle cars...

Never owned a truck before. Its not quite quick enough to justify selling the Bonneville, but its definately going to be driven a lot.

Would this be dumb to get? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... &viewitem=

I am cheap and don't feel like buying a new $150 tire right now.
