The LeSabre's 150th!

I'm obsessed, possibly...but...

Image

My Buick has just crossed 150,000 miles! (241,401.6 km)

No rebuilds, regular maintenance only. Car shifts super smooth and holds excellent oil pressure. In the years I've owned it, I've only had to replace two things out of schedule. One being an alternator after over 140,000 miles of service, the other being a throttle position sensor after I fried it washing my engine (stupid). Previous owner's maintenance records report much the same.

The original driver's seat after 11 years and 150,000 miles of service, no rips, tears, or cracks...

Image

Looks like it's time to re-clean and condition the seat, though.

And the driver's side carpet. I know for sure it has never been professionally cleaned, for that matter I can't recall ever having even used cleaning agents on it at all. Regular vacuuming only. Probably because I'm such a butt about no food or drinks in this car.

And of course the paint...

(A month or two old, but it doesn't look any different now)

I've said it before, but I'll say it again...I could drop an entirely new drivetrain in this car and I'd never notice the difference as far as reliability or smoothness are concerned. Everything, and I do mean everything...accessories, electronic goodies and all...still work exactly as they were designed to from the factory. This is by far the highest quality, most dependable car I've ever owned or driven. And this is coming from a former Honda owner. My Accord couldn't hold a candle to how well this car has held up, and it was just as well cared for. The list of things that didn't work on that car was long.

Looking forward to the next 150,000 miles...

So...did you try that kit on the headlights yet? I mean, it seems that awesome ride deserves a gift for lasting that long! :beerchug:

Pretty amazing condition for that mileage...I never even checked or asked because I simply assumed it hadn't a click over 50k! :)

I couldn't have imagined it had that many miles. I remember the baby oil explosion pictures of your interior, and it looked mint!

I'm almost there myself. The SE has 143000 on it, and the interior is in almost as good of shape as yours (mines cloth though). My exterior has a few dings though...

Thanks guys! I drove her to work today and was yet again surprised by how well she's doing...shifts as well if not better than my 50k mile truck!

It drove really good.... The only part that pisses me off is that the Lesabre doesn't seem to have the quirks and rattled like the Bonneville has :sad5:

Those seats are really comfy tho... Now all you need is to install the heated seat parts as the next Mod.. lol

Keep that fluid in the trans changed once a year and it should stay happy.. Maybe we'll change it again at the next SEBF

I've been lucky on that so far...everything on her still works great.

Heated seats would be great...I've seen some aftermarket units...could try finding some from a Bonneville. Dunno how much of a pain that would be though.

I might be dropping the pan before then, I'm not sure how I feel about that magnet being gone. Or I may just take the lazy route and stick a big magnet on the outside of the pan and see if that makes a difference. :laughing3:

No good deed goes unpunished. I've always been fearful of a major meltdown after pointing out how dependable my ride has been.
