Cruise control not working 1998 sle

I'm new here and am trying to get help figuring out why my cruise control does not work. It does not display on das when button is engaged. I've checked brake lights, I've replaced the module in the engine bay and checked cable. And I've replaced the stock switch and nothing has changed. Has anyone dealt with this problem before?
