97 Bonneville SE security light on and A/C vent weak on Max

Post by Corvette95 »

So my one owner 1997 30 k miles Bonneville K has started the security light staying on. It turns on for the initial cycle them stays on. There are NO DTC's in system. According to the FCM both the Vats Module and PCM controls the light. The PCM place said it may turn the light off and the Vats module Vats delete box also says it can't promise the light to go off. I have replaced the ICM(new 2 one off GM parts lot, coils, fuel pump and regulator, Cam and Crank sensor and new ICM harness. I have a new reman computer that I didn't ask for them to disbale VATS. The ignition is also new (by me ) 6 months ago with correct resister number. Any thoughts would be appreciated. On another note... my dash fan on MAX AC is very cold but I seem to not be getting the air flow like I should. I verified programmer and vacuum from intake. It does change vent position with switch. Thanks

I don't know about your security light, but for your A/C volume you might check to see if the heat exchanger (evaporator) is clogged. It's fairly common for debris to get down in there and block airflow. Bit of a pain to get to and clean out, but if it is clogged cleaning will make a huge difference.
