Sunshade removal 97

Post by Corvette95 »

I am trying to get the "sunshade" out of my 97 SSE for recovering. I have the headliner out and I have the service manual but no pictures and not familiar with the term " shield and trough" . I am just missing something obvious I guess. The glass has to come out first right? Do I start in the fully closed position? FSM not really clear. I have searched here and the internet. Everything I have found is broken links and missing pictures. I certainly would appreciate some help. Thanks.

I'm 99% sure it comes out through the top. I did my shade 12 years ago so my memory is a little hazy. I know I've had the glass out and I wouldn't have taken it out for any other reason.

I believe the glass comes out in the tilt position. 4 screws I think?
