97 Headliner.. How to get it out of the car w/o creasing

97 Headliner.. How to get it out of the car w/o creasing

So I have the headliner down in the 97. I need to remove it from the car. I don't see a way to get it out of the car without creasing/bending. I know some cars must R/I the front or rear glass to remove the headliner. I was hoping someone here has a better way. I have ordered the OEM service manual(s) but I would like to get it out now. Thanks in advance.

I did mine successfully by taking out all the seats and going out the back door.

Thanks! I have the front seats out getting new leather.! I was able to get the headliner out with front seats in but would not put back the way I got it out. Did you remove front AND rear bench or just the fronts? Thanks in advance!

If you have the money to redo the leather, another option could be paying someone R&R the windshield. You could check for rust in the process.
