Hello all,
I am hoping someone can offer advice. I am looking at a 2001 SSEi to purchase but I am not sure it has the correct supercharger on it. My 99 SSEi and 00 Ultra don't have this vacuum port right near the boost solenoid. Looks like the blower may have been swapped from another car. I can't see how to attach a photo here

The 96-97 M90 have a tubular vacuum tree in additional to the top tree. If used on a 2001, these could just be blocked off. There is no performance difference, still an M90. But you're right in thinking its not original and either the supercharger or the entire engine has been swapped.

Thanks for responding. Is there a way to tell if the engine has been swapped? I didn't consider that. The vacuum ports have hoses attached there but nothing looks right. If those were capped and the other lines run properly that blower would be okay? The lines are in terrible shape and it has a bank 1 lean code so I'm sure this has something to do with it.

No way to tell other than incorrect or loose fasteners. That sticker on the valve cover identifies the engine (to some extent, I'm not sure how to decipher), but its very easy to swap a valve cover. That supercharger will work just fine as long as those ports are closed off. Here is the correct routing for your 01 SSEi.

Ok, thanks for the routing diagram! Same for my 00 Ultra and the 99 SSEi. Since my last message I read that the 98 and earlier blocks do not have the locator pin holes on the sides for the long gasket pieces but probably can't identify that with intake on. Also, apparently the earlier intakes did not have the metal vacuum port under the snout because of that vacuum tree. This car does have the later intake with the metal nipple so there's a good indication the engine is original but can't be sure. I can see the gaskets have been upgraded to the metal.
