Time to move on, time to say goodbye...

Post by RJolly87 »

In its 26 years of service, it's done 206,780 miles.

I have known it for 11 of those years, and inflicted 55k miles of abuse upon it.

Each and every day, I have tried to beat it within an inch of its life, and it has done nothing but come back for more each and every time.

But in life, there comes a point where you find yourself at a crossroads, and you have to choose a path.

I have chosen a path, and that path involves parting ways with my 1993 Buick Park Avenue.

Simply put, it doesn't make financial sense to keep it around at this point. Insurance rates are unsustainable, and maintenance costs are stacking up.

It's a sad day, as it's been around for so long. For the longest time, I have been willing it along, wanting to see what would bring about its end, and unfortunately, that day hasn't come yet.

It will likely be sold locally for $500, unless I can be convinced there is a better course of action. Insurance and registration expire at the end of May, both of which I have no intention of renewing.

It's just a car, but there's something about these cars. They get under your skin, and you can never get them out. To this day, my father still talks fondly of his 1997 Park Avenue Ultra, despite it being wrecked over 8 years ago.

It's a sad day coming, all I can do in the meantime is invest in the Regal, to get it ready for daily duties. Tires, Alignment, etc.

I think I actually remeber when you got it..

Sucks to see you have to unload it. But at over 200k, its done a good job.

I dread the day this comes for my 2003 Bonne, but it's certainly far closer than it is farther these days.

Not much you can do about it. Cherish the memories you've made it in and the comfortable miles driven.

May you continue to fight with honor, and may you die well.

Until we meet again, if ever that may be!
