am i able to run 10w-30 oil in the supercharger?
is there anything else i need to know about supercharger maintenance?

There is some debate out there with little more than circumstantial evidence about which oil. GM will tell you to only use the specific supercharger oil, available from them or a number of other sources. Me, I stick to the supercharger oil. Warning, it'll smell pretty bad because it's made of animal fat.
Check for grinding, slop and play in the pulley. Grinding and/or non-rotational slop would be a bearing issue. Rotational play would be a worn coupler. I suggest taking the belt off before ordering any oil or other parts and check it out.

As said above, remove the belt and check for slop. You more than likely will be in for a coupler replacement, at which point you'll lose all the oil out of the thing anyways. You can get the GM Supercharger oil in a number of places, so I'd just order the bottle for peace of mind.
