Actron 9110 not working with homemade cable

I followed the buttermore/slug cable instructions to the T. I bought this scanner on e-bay, and it works, but it keeps saying connection problem. Any ideas? It's on a 94 SSEi. Seems like this scan tool DOESN'T work with more 94/95 cars and it DOES work with :?. In the case of no ideas, anyone have any interest in buying this from me for what I paid ($35 dollars shipped)? If you want the extra homemade 9115 cable, I'll give it to you for an extra ten bux.
I didn't use solder - as I didn't want to butcher the OBD cable if it didn't work. Think I'm going to HAVE to solder it and maybe get thicker wire for it to work properly? I didn't think it'd seem much current, therefore didn't see a reason to use thick wire. I even burnt the tips of the wires to get any protective coating off.

Do you have an ohm meter? Or a continuity tester? I am wondering if you checked the pinouts to make sure the colors have not changed in the production of the newest batch of cables. The colors I found in my cable several years ago may no longer match what you are using. If you used only the color codes as a guide, that could be why it is not working for you. Also, you might want to check your splices to make sure that combustion residues and other oxides might have resulted in a poor or intermittent connection. You could just use small wire nuts or solder-less butt connectors to join the wires in a more secure manner. If you have not already done so, you may want to check the ends of the spliced cable to make sure the pins are connected as shown in the diagram.

I'd check out that yellow wire, looks like the wire is black with corrosion.

Alright, it seems like they changed the colors. White is not ground on this OBD connector - I'll post what I find in a bit. Thanks!

As Mr. Buttermore suggested, it was the wire colors. It's working perfectly now. Thanks! :D
Here's my hard copy of the wire color conversions:
obd
pcm - bare
ground - gray
12y - white
ser data - green
serial
red - 7
bare - 3
white - 15
gray - 14
blue - 11
green - 10
OBD II Plug -> Serial
Bare -> Red
Gray -> Gray
Green -> Blue & Green
White -> White
Some time here I will write up a diagram like like bill's.
I didn't get much chance to play with it as all the fuel has basically leaked out, but is it normal to be showing 100% boost at idle, and TPS reading 17? lol.

http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... 99&p=16869 Check out buttermore's thread and use his pic to refer to which wires are which number. I didn't feel like re-drawing his pic.
Not all the wires are used, actually very few are used.
