I remembers a long time ago that there was a fan switch override on the series 1 motor. Since I can't figure out why my rad fans stay on during start up to shutdown I was wondering if it's possible to do it on the series 2 motor, specifically my PA Ultra.

We can help try and figure out what the issue is, because most fan overrides use the existing fan control hardware anyway, and if something isn't working, then it won't accomplish anything. Also, I believe intervention in the cooling fan system may set a 'Service Engine Soon' light depending on what is done, which is also a deterrent to some.

What have you done or discovered in regards to the issue?

Well so far Ic checked for codes and nothing. I played with fan relays sp I think, hi, and low. When removed the fans turn off respectively and the sp relay keeps it from coming on completely.
I believe I do need a new thermostat because all through winter the car never warmed to operating temps not even with the main relay removed. I used torque to check the pcm temp and how it corresponds with the dash temp and everything seems fine.

When you checked for codes, does it also see pending codes? A friend's SSEi had the fans on continuously. Scanning, it found a pending code for, believe it or not, that the engine did not reach operating temperature as quickly as the computer thought that it should. Clearing the code took care of the problem.

No no pending codes. Only my p0442 code if I remember correctly. The only thing I could think of is the way I wired my alarms remote start to the 2nd acc wire. I was trying to have the heat come on while its started remotely. I don't know exactly when this problem started and I don't know if any of the wires underneath the kickpanel have anything to do with the rad fans.

Is the coolant sensor underneath the thermostat housing for the pcm or the dash?

Sorry about that, my service engine light is on because of the removed relays. It doesn't come back on when I reinsert the relays
