Times to change my Trans Fluid....

Post by nailbomb3 »

It's that time. Gasket, filter etc.

What's everyone's 'favorite' fluid and why?

Thanks!

Not sure but I think Dex VI is backwards compatible. Apparently it's a great fluid.

I always just buy Penzoil DexIII, otherwise known as Dex/Merc. Thats what farm and fleet sells and I can get it $3.49/quart.

They have their farm and fleet brand for $2.49 but I'm kind of afraid to try it. Not sure if all trans fluids are created equal?

But I've used different brands over the years and have never had an issue as long as the trans is serviced regularly.

Dex VI is full syn and III mineral/semi?

How if there is dex III and you change fluid and but IV? You dont get all old fluid out in normal fluid change.

I wondered about that too, you aren't going to get all the old fluid out.

I just wound up getting a couple jugs of this:

Thoughts?

At least valvoline engine oils are good.
