bar's leaks transmission repair fluid in the crank case oil.

Post by 88bonnsse »

dead tired, in pain, and half asleep I just did one of the biggest rookie mistakes.. ( kicking my self in the ass over and over ). smh

I had to put the winter tires on my 1987 delta 88 royale, I needed a new air chuck to fill the tires up as mine broke so I went to autozone for one. while at autozone I I could have sworn I picked up a bottle of bar's leaks engine repair that goes in the oil.

I got home. opened oil cap and opened bottle of bar's leaks. turned bottle of bar's leaks upside down into oil filler hole and left it to drain while I swapped the stock tires for the snow tires. finished changing tires and when I pulled out bottle from oil fill hole I noticed it was BAR'S LEAKS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REPAIR :o :dontknow: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :helpsmilie: :helpsmilie: :helpsmilie:

soooooooooooo. I left the car right in the spot where it was. did not start it at all. my question is can I just do like 2 oil changes to flush out all that thick ass transmission repair fluid from my engine ? :helpsmilie:

should be fine to just flush. I would assume it is just a really heavy oil I can't see it being harmful really, especially with all the cars that end up full of dexcool in the oil and are still kicking.

If it's anything like the Lucas stuff you will want to bring it in the garage and heat everything up. That trans stuff is a sludge that won't flow without some heat.

Might do a test to see if it's broken down by seafoam? I don't think it will mix with the oil at all, and will not be easily flushed without a cleaner of some sort. But that depends how thick it is. If it's runny then just drain the oil, leave the drain open and pour a quart of oil in to chase it all out.
