Lowering Spring Group Buy!!??

I have a quote for a basic price on a set of custom made lowering springs for our poor neglected platform.

The price should be around $450 for a set, plus shipping.

Im working on deciding springrates and exactly how much of a drop to put in them. So far Im looking at about a 1.5" drop and a 35% increase in springrate over FE5 springs. Progressive rates are possible, but I dont think Im really up for engineering the ramp rate and all that right now.

So, give me your input. Whos interested? Is there another drop value or springrate youd like to see? What color do you want?

Yeah, I dont know if they have different color options, I was just asking for general opinions. Im guessing black is it.

I plan to order by the end of the week. I want to get as many people in on this as I can and see if we can get a price break.

Yeah, just let me know when. I have some money put aside that I was saving for something else, but I can use it for springs.

Just a refresher - we need to get FE5 struts, right? How about the shocks, would be need to replace those, or should FE2 work? I replaced my originals with AC Delco's about 2 years ago, so they are still good, and I don't want to replace them if I don't have too (they weren't cheap :lol:).

I dont think you HAVE to use GXP struts, but it couldnt hurt. They are tough to find, so Im putting together a way to use 97-09 W body struts in front.

So, both bottom diameters of the 97-03 W and 00+ H front springs are confirmed to be the same? Or in other words, you're sure the H-body spring will work in a W-body strut spring seat? And also that the seat is the same distance from the strut mounting location?

The springs should be the same across the board for the Bonneville. So you could use "FE5" springs in an FE2 strut. It would be beneficial to grab FE5 equipment, but not necessary.

I can understand the struts, but I was really wondering about the shocks. I just didn't know if there was much of difference with the shocks, since they can me level adjusted, and didn't know if FE2 and FE5 shocks had different rates.

FE5 rear shocks are a bit stiffer but same with the fronts, I wouldn't see it necessary to source out FE5 rears if your FE2 are new, especially being ACDelcos.

The bottom mounting holes will need to be enlarged but otherwise, w body struts appear to be identical.

GXP FE5 struts are $114 a pop from RockAuto. That's how I got mine.

I haven't heard back about a group buy price. I also just found a place that claims to have 98-99 sts eibach pro kits in stock. I ordered one. I'll post the link if anyone else wants to see if they can still get a set.
