Good evening gentlemen, I have a 1999 Bonneville se, 3.8.I have noticed as of late my oil pressure gage has suddenly been higher than before while driving. Normally it is around 40 or just above at 55 - 65 mph. Now it is 1/2 way between 40 and 120 or if it was a fuel gage at 3/4 of a tank. It does drop below 40 at stop lights but returns to previous high position after getting up to speed.
At idle in park , its still at 3/4 but does drop 1/2 way to 40 when you rev up to 2500 rpms, then back to the higher reading when you left off the gas. Changed the pvc valve, thinking it might be stuck and no change.Only thing I have done to it lately is change the oil and put a new air cleaner in.Also getting an oil leak around front valve cover , maybe pressure is causing that. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Oil pressure too high..
sounds like the oil pressure sending unit is shot... Very common with these cars..
