Hi all
I did some searching today here on the club I've been looking for info on the soild front mount. So from what I have gathered I need 3 hockey pucks, washers, nut, nylock nut, 1/2"x8" bolt, and 2 bushing. Then assembled it would go bolt head then washer,bushing,frame,pucks,bushing,washer,nut,then nylock nut. Does that sound right? Did I miss anything?

You don't need a second bushing really. I just have one, and have zero vibtration. You'll need a small stack of washers to fill the space between the pucks and the bracket. There could be an inch or more space, depending on the thickness of your pucks.

One more quick question whats the point of the 2 nuts?

Keep them from vibrating loose. The friction of them being twisted together keeps them apart. I have a mechanical lock nut and a nyloc nut on there. Mine's never going to accidentally come apart, lol.

Actually I recently did this and andrew suggested using the rubber pad found on the front of boat trailers, the kind shaped like a hourglass. already has the hole in the middle and its one piece. Mine turned out great. Good luck with project.

can someone please make sense of why i need to put a hockey puck on my bonneville. i told my friends and my local mechanic this and they laughed at me.

Because the original mount often breaks, causing a lot of engine movement which leads to other symptoms like rough shifts. Depending on the amount of movement, it can lead to other problems, also.

You dont NEED to. You can just buy a stock mount. But those tend to fail early if you drive the car hard. The solid mount is just a cheap alternative and doesnt let the engine/trans rock back and forth as much. Helps put the power to the ground more, IMO.

The solid mount doesn't fail. The stock mount does.

I'm looking at making a mount with poly pull bar bushings for a circle track car. Asscar technology on my car, never thought that would happen.

i bought some hockey pucks from Sports Authourity yesterday and im skeptical about them fixing my problem. maybe i bought the wrong ones i think they are made of plastic they are hard, but just knowing that they are plastic creates doubt in my mind. do you think they will hold?

Standard black hockey pucks, like those used in the NHL, will be made of fairly hard rubber that might look a bit like plastic. Did you buy weighted or plastic orange "practice" pucks or something?

yeah the ones i bought were different colors..idk if they are "practice" pucks or not.

the package says "nhl franklin pro commannder street hockey puck"
its plastic but it seems durable but i want you guys opinion on should i try them out or go get some different ones.

A street puck will have rollers in it and may or may not be solid rubber.

yes it has rollers on it, but it looks just like the puck on the pics that the other guy drilled holes into, mine looks identical on the inside.
so do you think my pucks are good enough for the job? or should i shave those roller things off? i need to do this asap because i changed all the mounts and this brand new mount i put on is lose as hell like i never installed a new one.

I would see about removing the rollers all together or at least trying to shave them flat, though that will be hard to do as they will roll when you try to shave them.

Really all the pucks are is spacers, the bolt takes all the stress of the engine when you get on it, so as long as you can get the rollers flat or remove them those pucks will be fine if the centers are solid rubber.
