Cruise Control Issue.

Cruise Control Issue.
On my 02 SSei this only happens occasionally but ill be driving normal highway speeds and the cruise will shut itself off i then set it back at speed and after a few seconds it quits again. It does this about 4 or 5 times and then it stays and doesn't do it again for a week or so. Any clues?
2002 Bonneville SSEi 4+ years ownership 103xxx miles.

A couple of common things that can cause that is too much slip in the torque converter, and a faulty throttle position sensor. Service engine soon light lit?

FWIW, for a while my cruise control would disengage whe I used the left turn signal. Problem eventually went away.
