suggestions for more power from my 03 N/A Bonneville

Talk about modifications, or anything else associated with performance enhancements. Have a new idea for performance/reliability? Post it here. No idea is stupid! (please use Detailing and Appearance for cosmetic ideas)

suggestions for more power from my 03 N/A Bonneville

Post by ablebakercharlie »

Relatively new-to-me 2003 SLE.

I've done some maintenance stuff like plugs, etc. and gutted the airbox and added a K&N panel air filter. It at least sounds better!

I've read on here that the exhaust flows well (although given my experience with other GM cars I am having trouble fully believing that).

Short of installing a nitrous system or swapping on a supercharger, what can I do to get more mid-range (3000-4000 rpm) torque from this engine? I am not ready to port the heads or swap the cam...yet.

Once I decide on the plan, there will be a PCM tune.

Suggestions?
Ed

I swapped my PCM for an Intense unit, and installed their intake as well. It woke it up nicely.

& it is recomended to change the lower intake manifold gaskets. & while you are at it port the LIM. That with the Intake & a reprogram computer will make you happy for now. I've gotten all my upgrades from Intense & have nothing but good things to say about them. good luck.
