E Brake

My girlfriend asked an interesting question tonight.
How feasible is it to move the E-brake from the floor to a hand one?
I know with enough money time and fabrication skills anything is possible.

How realistic is it though?

As far as I know, it's just a cable.

You'd have to route the cable around stuff, keeping the tension correct.

Additionally, I don't know where the sensor that tells the car that it's still activated is.

The switch is nothing more than a switch that makes the circuit when the pedal is not in the fully returned position. I can't remember off the top of my head if it is a normally open or closed circuit.

My question would be where would you locate it with the console the way it is?

In between the console and the seat?
With the handle where Bill keeps his big gulps?

Actually sounds like it wouldn't be too hard..
Doubt its something ill do anytime soon or at all for that matter (unless the girlie wants it changed for some reason :S)

My girlfriend wanted to know if it was even possible to move it.
I know anything possible with enough time money and fab skills.
I wanted to know how realistic it was is all.

Can it be moved? Sure!

I bought a handbrake setup off ebay (a 996 Porsche 911 part mind you) but really didn't feel like hacking up the console/floor as much as was needed.

Foot brakes suck...
