Greetings all knowing forum!
my 1999 SSEI has a power radio antenna, it is stuck up, I hear the noise of it trying to go down, but it does not. It is not bent or dirty. Any ideas are highly appreciated!
Thank you
Bill

The retractor cord is likely broken. If you pull back the trunk carpeting on the passenger side, you have access to the motor. Take it out and inspect it. At least unplug it so it doesn't drain your battery.

replace with a junkyard part ($45) , repair with a autopart store kit ($20), or leave it (unplug the power connection at the antenna). You could take it apart and try to repair the plastic extender yourself.

Depending on where you are and if u have to deal with alot of snow and ice, I would wait until spring to repair or replace it so that ice won't damage your new antenna. In the mean time just unplug it.

Yes. It will be hard to make out any detail, but the mast looks like this. I have had mine installed and used every day for the last 2 years, Minnesota winters and all. Still works perfectly. Hard to tell in the pics but it is chrome, not black.
