1985 Bonneville
Okay, so I bought this 1985 Bonneville to play with and work on over the next couple of years - it could be done sooner, I'm just not in a rush and I want it done right. I am quickly realizing that there are VERY FEW people who share my interest in this car. It's sort of stuck between classic and just not cool I suppose.
Does anyone know of any sites or places for better info on the '85 Bonneville?

I think your right. I'm not even sure what Pontiac was thinking when the made the Lemans into a Bonneville Model G from 1982 to 1986. Then around 1984 they brought the real Bonneville back from Canada and called it the Parisienne (which is what Canada always called the Bonneville) but still sold the Bonneville in the US. I'm so confused.HSMMtodd wrote: It's sort of stuck between classic and just not cool I suppose.

Re: 1985 Bonneville
Hey a Bonneville is a Bonneville regardless of the year, I remember owning a 76 Grand Prix and that was a boat. I still remember picking up my girlfriend (wife) at the time and later finding out that she thought the car was waaaaaay to big.
Ok, back to the original topic, as long as you like it, that's what counts.

Yeah, not a lot of love for the mid-80's Bonnies. They are big, boxy, and under-powered. Two-door Buicks from that era get all the attention.
On the flip side... it's a conventional front-engine, rear wheel drive, full frame car. The engine bay is big enough to stuff just about any motor in it. The wiring and engine management system is pretty simple too. So the sky is the limit if you want to play modification games.

Re: 1985 Bonneville
you r right , not a lot of people take much interest in the cars. however I have found the make good sleeper cars. i pulled out the v6 and droped in a 6.6 liter 403 olds enginewith an edelbrock topend kit and a th350 tranny with a b&m shift kit and b&m starshifter. flowmaster dualexaust with hooker headers. now its a real saturdat night special.
