A Rubber Chicken can push a Suburban to ninety miles per hour.
A Suburban towing a Rubber Chicken can consume fuel at a rate equivalent to my beer consumption while working on said Chicken. Which is at a rate of eight and a half miles per gallon.
Another casualty to the Rubber Chicken, a stone has cracked the windsheild. The Suburban has taken a couple hits leaving battle wounds, but no cracks.

That sucks!! Nothing like being kicked while already down and out!
This is exactly why I didn't let Kim drive when we hauled the Chicken in from Rock Springs. What was I thinking? - I could have crawled into the back seat and slept and we'd have gotten home 10 minutes earlier.

Bonneville Collections!?!?!?!?!
RUN MATT AND BILL!!! RUN!!!!
2013 A4 P+ ------------------ Glacier White Metallic
6MT, Sport Pkg, JHM Stage 1 Clutch/LWFW, JHM Short Shifter, JHM HFC, USP SS Clutch Line, CR-15 Strut Bar, Alu Kreuz, BFI Shift Knob, EC Trans Mount Insert, VCDS tweaks.
Under 2 hours to go. Passing through the Dalles.
checked on sticker #1. It's still there. Pic on photobucket.
switched drivers again, matt has the con.
#6 intake valve spring broke. Valve locks let go (these were the titanium locks I gave him for this motor). Dropped the valve into the piston.
Matt just cranked the motor from the HB, we heard crap drop into the pan, so the rod or cap broke. Probably both.
I have pics of the spring, but I'm not posting them tonight, I've got nearly a 2-hour drive ahead of me tonight to get home. Suburban is unloaded, ZiLLA is loaded, and the epic journey is almost done.
Suburban was missing 1-2 shifts the last 200 miles, we'll see what it does in the morning when it cools off. Tired old horse.
I have finished my first beer and waiting for Bill to get home. I will not be satisfied until he makes it home. Been a long trip, but very fun to say the least.
The windsheild on the Chicken will be dealt with at a later time, but for now I will be assesing the damage and getting it mobile again under it's own power.
The Suburban was having problems with the 1-2 shift, but that is not a problem. The fluid was a little darker, but not burnt. I have an unlimited mileage warranty on it that is good until November. I will check it in the morning and if all is good, I will just take it in and have them inspect it and change the filter and fluid.
I need to thank everyone. I do not know how to repay everyone who PIF'd me or watched this thread and followed along. I still do not feel right from the PIF. It feels like I need to repay everyone here. It is not just about the money, but the feeling of family that everyone here gives me when things like this happen. Every time I log in and see the views on here increase, it makes me feel good that there are so many that care and are concerned for our well being.
I really love this forum and glad to be part of this FAMILY.
THANK YOU ALL!
