Re: supercharger
I'm 17 as well, lol. Honestly, you'll be better throwing in a cam, smaller pulley, or even a S2 swap with Intense Stage 2 heads and cam. You'll be better off in the long run. It'll be just as expensive, and IMHO, just as fast.
Bye Bye:

Re: supercharger
I'm not laughing, I just don't understand going with something like this at all, i understand that you have two superchargers and all that i just can't fathom this ever working right. especially when you can do other mods that will give you greater benifit with less headache, it's like putting 10 crappy subs in you car and taking out all the seats to do it or putting 2 nice subs in the trunk and still retaining the vehicles purpose.
but I'm not going to make fun of you or try to stop you, just don't get mad when people who have been modding these cars for years think this isn't going to work.
now then, I will continue to watch this thread and enjoy hearing about your progress

Re: supercharger
This could be interesting
But if you have the cashflow, why not just buy a 70's muscle car and put mods onto that.
I thought the same when I first got my car of how to make it faster, no matter how much money or time you spend onit theres always going to be something faster and way better looking lol.
The way the market is now its very feasable to get an awesome muscle car for a descent price.
Best of luck with the project/

go big or go home
i say do it and be different, i see cash flow isn't an issue and you have the drive to do it, so hit it full steam ahead

There is not a whole lot of mods available for the series one 3800.
nothing from intense will fit.
i have the drive. cash might be a bit tight.. but once i pull it into the garage im not inscuring it or pulling it out till its done. sure it may take a couple months and be a pain to get working but once its done awesome wont be able to describe it.. and then i can move on to a muscle car (ive been thinking 69 restored camero with an lsx 454 and a whipple sc but thats waaaaaay in the future so dont go haywire) and sure theres always going to be abetter faster nicer looking car. but this is a project i want to do just to be different and learn a lot and spend some time with my father.. people say it will never work or it wont be worth my time. sure i could do the same mods as everyone else. but those are the keywords "like everyone else". this is going to be something really impressive and for me worth every hour, cut, briuse and swear along the way. (plus a a stocked minifridge)

This is quite inaccurate. Every single item available for the Series 2 is available for the Series 1 if you know where to look, and the only exception is an intercooler, which has been custom fabbed now. MANY of the parts at INTENSE will fit your car. I once posted a very long post showing all the parts they had that would work on the Series 1, and there are several on my cars we weren't sure of that I did test-fits for.
The problem with your plan isn't lack of part availability. It's getting the trans (particularly the diff) to hold it. And I don't think you can solve that problem with the dreams you have. It's very possible to get alot more performance out of the Series 1 L67, and you'd be quite happy with it. Ditch the double supercharger idea. You don't need more low-end torque with the series 1, you need top end horsepower. ADD a turbo to pick up the top end.

Re: supercharger
Your first paragragh is correct sorta. Many of INTENSE's parts will work on his car just none that will make horsepower. I dont see any upgraded S1 heads, cams, headers, turbo kits. The only thing that INTENSE sells that will make HP is rockers.willwren wrote:This is quite inaccurate. The diff problem is being worked on currently.

Re: supercharger
How many people on this Forum are running ported heads?
I can count them on one hand. And you're still a bit off, dirtracr. I know how many INTENSE parts I have on my own car, and many of them DO add horsepower. Some of them have been on my 93 for years.

Sorry I forgot about the FWI, 160* stat and the supercharger coupler. What else from INTENSE do you have on your car that you dont have on your fairly recent mod list?

Re: supercharger
well ok if you say so willwren. i emailed the intense company asking what all they sell that would fit my series one. heres what they said :
"Hi Colin,
We only have a couple items for your Series I engine – a replacement supercharger coupler and high ratio rocker arms. Both of these are in stock for immediate shipment."
thats from the original email. if you disagree and have used some of thier parrts and have written up this list i would love a list.

That email was before i got this whole scheme in mind. i emailed him asking what he could do for power and thats what i got.
so pretty much there is not much intense can do for me.
but everyone here swears by intense and seems to disagree so im interested to see what they come up with.

Re: supercharger
You're going to want bigger pulleys, not smaller. Remember, you're moving 124 ci of air instead of 62. That's a lot more air. How do you plan on flowing more fuel to make up for that? How do you plan on dealing with KR? You need to make sure that you have everything accounted for, otherwise you're going to have a $15,000 paperweight on your hands.

You will probably have to upgrade the fuel delivery with new injectors, fuel rail with regulator and pump.

that would not fall under "and all required parts" ?
thats something to take into ccount. the pulley size has already been discused. im doing abbit of reserch to see what size would be ideal
