I took my driver's test In my mother's '94 bonneville, figuring 'If I can park this,I can park anything..." after that I went through a string of Fieros and Saturns. Followed by a slew of old and european cars. A few years later my mother decided that she hated her country and decided to buy a camery. she offered to sell me the Bonneville for what the dealer was offering her on trade. $700. I passed, I wanted a sporty car and ended up buying another Fiero instead. I desision I would regret since the fiero was stolen a few months later.
Fast forward a year a Trans sport van would fall into my lap for $300. After a failed search for a U-van performance owners club. I stumbled across the other forum where I met the screwballs that are Lash and don. They nurture my stupidity and I eventually shaved a couple seconds of the vans 1/4 time. then the transmission exploded. Between the awesome people in the club and lash's beautiful bonneville I decided that I finally wanted to correct my earlier mistake and be a bonneville owner after all.
Except I couldn't find one. I did manage to find a pretty well used '93 Lesabre and said "stuff it, it's close enough." $700 and I was the first Lesabre at SEBF. the next year we outnumber the bonnevilles.
I finally got a bonneville when my Metro Lsi shat the bed. I bought it off another member for so little money that I might as well have pushed him into a mud puddle and told him "this is mine now, punk." I've since lost the car in a breakup, but may buy it back from her soon, as it's developed a nasty oil leak and it's only a matter of time before it fails completely. It will be a beautiful home for the L67 thats just sitting around, taking up space.

Marik, your LeSabre is one beastly LeSabre. And even with the rust-ectomy on my car it likely still has more structural integrity!

I was driving an '01 Cadillac Seville for about 2 years after my dad couldn't drive it anymore due to his DUI record (we had to pick it up the day after with a wrecked wheel and tire. After putting money into the Caddy and falling in love with it (I still love it), I gave it back to him when I found my current '98 Bonneville SE. I bought it back in January of this year (2011) from a woman who was pregnant with her third child and her and her husband had purchased a Ford minivan (ugh). She was selling the Bonnie for $2300 at 145k on the odometer. I didn't look at it long before CRAVING it right there and then. I bought it on the spot for $2000 and drove it home. Unfortunately during some maintenance, the ignition locked up and the car sat until about a week ago for about 2 1/2 months. I got the ignition issue fixed for about $450 and learned while it was at the shop it had leaking manifold gaskets
So I have it parked AGAIN in the garage until they're fixed. Should be about 2-3 weeks hopefully (I'm waiting for the parts to arrive). BUT, here is the first picture I have ever taken of the car so far:

Found mine on Craigslist. I gave $1200 for the car. I actually bought the car to be a donor car for my 1988 LeSabre T-Type. I traveled a little over 300 miles away and drove it back without a single problem. I'm still not sure if I want to keep it for a donor or flip it for more cash since it's good shape.

Bought mine off Craigslist about two years ago. Guy had it posted as a 97 SE with a factory L67. I wasn't aware at the time that they were made. It had a bad power steering pump and needed tires. Guy was selling it to buy tires for his SUV. Asking price 400 dollars! I told him I'd take it sight unseen. Went the next day and trailered it home. I just finished adding a HUD and cluster with boost gauge last weekend. It makes my sixth Bonne. And definitely my favorite. Pic is from right after I bought it.

Got my bonnie Last June/July. Was driving a van that my grandparents sold me when I was in a pinch. But when a family in our church needed a van, I gladly sold it, and found my bonneville. Its a 2000 with the 3.8 Series 2. Picked it up for $2000, with what he called "major transmission problems" Which was really just the Pressure control Solenoid
I have done a few small things to it, rear shocks, Pressure Control solenoid, and the other solenoid that is next to that was recommended that change at the same time. I have also replaced both tie rod ends and plan to do a HID headlight conversion this summer.
This weekend I am doing Plugs and Wires, I have heard that these can be a beast, or at least the back three, so we will see. Any suggestions would be great!!!

Inheritance!
I was given my Bonneville a couple of weeks ago when my parents traded up and decided the resale value was negligible. I LOVE my first car and plan on keeping it in as good as shape as possible for many years to come.
Driving a car is like commanding a submarine - the deeper you go the better your chances!
