Might be a little shaken up by the time they get to Michigan anyways ;) We also did the fuel sender on my sister's Malibu, both had to drop the tank. And a ball joint and EVAP canister!

I scrounged through the junkyard for a few hours to find a 2003 SLE with cleared corners and aftermarket orion rear deck speakers and its complete console. So me having a 2000 SLE i had to take up on the chance to change my cupholders and new speakers but didnt take up on the headlights how ever. Hopefully tommorrow will be a long day of installation and tinkering on the ol pos

took a quick break from work and drove to AutoZone and bought two 3157 bulbs and replace my rear turn signal bulbs. popped them in real quick, works like a charm, buttoned up the trunk and headed back to work. Also bought some leather conditioner for my car seats and the wifes leather whips (if you know what I mean). just seeing if anybody pays attention.

Yesterday I fixed a glass rattle in the front passenger door. It had been getting worse so I figured Id better fix it. The far right window runner had broken loose from its weld and was bumping all over the place. I dont weld so I drilled out the weld on the bracket and screwed a small but fat screw into the runner. First time the screw stuck out into the window runner and came into contact with the window. Replaced it with a smaller fat screw and the rattle's gone!

I filled up the Suburban, and got it washed (local chain called Paradise, the kind where they pull it in, vac, spray down, wash, wipe down, etc). Got it home and all the mud and crap from the cracks and crevices had oozed out, and it was 45* and sunny, so I wiped it down with Adam's Waterless Wash, then decided to wax it, and replaced the rear windshield wiper that had been streaky for a while.

I also swept out the garage and fixed the toilet that wouldn't flush right in the upstairs bathroom (flapper was jerry-rigged) $3.29 and a little adjusting later, and that was fixed too!
Bye Bye:

Got a car wash, yesterday I drove to Detroit for the NAIAS, it was quite amazing. The day before I ordered a K&N for the Saab.

That SSE lurking in the back though :)

I finally got around to replacing the rear window regulators on both rear doors last week. It's been about two years since the drivers side rear quit and about almost a year since the passenger rear gave up. But over the summer the drivers side actually collapsed out of nowhere so I ended up pulling the door panel and shoving a 1x4 in the door to hold the window up. But I got them both in working order with one of Andrew's rebuilds as well as replaced one of the hood struts that blew out on me a little while ago too.

Unfortunately, I suspect it has a bent connecting rod due to a paid mechanic not tightening the TB nuts (no remarks from Lane :) ) - BC

oh its not too bad. A couple hrs worse case scenario. Look over the procedure in the manual or you tube. Its a good time to lube all the moving parts too. Andrew's rebuilds are going to last according to what I hear.

Yeah, not a terrible job...worst part in my opinion is removing the door panel because the plastic clips tend to break.

Yeah, not a terrible job...worst part in my opinion is removing the door panel because the plastic clips tend to break. I picked up an "interior trim removal kit" from AutoZone for about $15 which was basically an assortment of plastic pry bars. They've come in handy.

Today was a day of fails. I attempted to find a new driver seat for the 96 and after I failed at that, I also failed at running the VSS signal wire to the radio on the 04 for the OEM nav unit I will be putting in. I put it on a switch so that information can be entered while moving but I must have put it to the wrong pin or something because now if the switch is on the car won't start. When it's off it starts like normal, and if I switch it on while driving it's fine also. Back to the drawing board!

Beat the crap out of it yesterday. I was really waiting for the trans to drop and I must've bashed the plow frame a couple times on concrete. At one point, where I pile it up in the center island of our court, I was halfway buried in the island trying to push back the pile with all 4's spinning...

My piles at the other house.

With Lane on this. Chicago took a beating, the city was chaotic.

Penny got a nice underbody cleaning. Almost beached it on a speed bump. Also found that my limiter in reverse is 3,000 rpm and sounds super cool when you're bouncing off it going nowhere.
