Not anything you would notice... you'll notice it most from a dead stop.

how much should the engine pull on that front mount when you shift in to gear from park? mine seemed to move almost an inch at least.

Mine only moves about 1/4" with my solid front mount. 1" isn't that bad.. I have seen them move 2-3 inches before.

Well I got a person from gm to look at my car and he's leaning towards the front engine mount needs replacing since the above mentioned didn't do anything different.

What is the part number for the engine mount and why can't I find engine mounts on rockauto.com? And how much is the mount usually?

I just PM'd you this info.
jack car up, put jack stand under the engine/tranny and set jack back down... slightly.. enought to take tension off the mount... take off 3 bols on the mount, and 1 on the bottom, and remove all together
Image
Image

parts i picked up - pucks were $2.99 each and the bolt setup was $10
Image

make a template to center your drill holes, however this is not really crucial
Image

mark...
Image

and drill...
Image

put bolt thru
Image

make sure everything is just as thick as the old mount
Image
Image
Image

wrapped in electrical tape just for cosmetic
Image

attach bracket in reverse order
Image
Image

leftovers that i can return to home depot... so about a $13 mod
Image
I have since upgraded to the 01bonneSC style mount, just because it looks neater.

They aren't in my picture, but you definately should get lock nuts. I had one come off before I updated them.

bought the stuff and put it all in, I have a slight vibration now but I'm gonna pick up a grade 8 bolt instead of the home depot white steel bar. This way I won't have the worry of the steel breaking while under pressure.

arg, well the mount is fixed but my car is still jumping when it shifts. Will adding a rubber gromet above the bottom nut help this? I know it will help with the vibration

i have the same problem on my '03 SE. it currently has 111111 miles (crazy, right?) and going from first to second gear is always a struggle. it will even get up to 6k rpm, or so, and in order to get it to shift i have to take my foot off of the gas and let it shift, and then give it gas again which becomes very annoying. i definateley understand your problem!
