My best WTF mod was tearing apart a power converter and trying to fab the outlets into the console fo my truck. Currently the outlets are installed, but I dropped the converter itself while installing and broke the mainboard.... maybe someday I'll get another converter and finish it up.... lol

Isn't your best "WTF mod" that you tore your entire car apart and then stopped working on it?

I painted the steel wheels red and put chrome hubcaps over them on my old 93.

i did the same thing on my first car, an 88 cavalier, cept i painted the wheels black.

i'm sure i've got one or two, i just can't think of any right now.

I'm glad for the new site, because mine was up for everyone to see on the old one. When I was just a grasshopper, I thought that an electric supercharger would be cool and fast.

But if it did work, it really would be cool. If you had a floating battery flying next to your car and powering a giant electric supercharger, that may work. The floating is necessary so as not to weigh down the car. Now, if I can get into RC airplanes, I could -

I painted the calipers red on my 95... hated it from the second I did it. Finally got them back to black a couple weeks later.

There is still a certain level of coolness to all of your "WTF" mods.

My best WTF mod was red tinting the light covers and installing red 141 bulbs in my 89. Oh don't worry, its still sexy after 19 years.

It's so hard not to do that in a RED car now a days... I've REALLY thought about doing it. I kept the '93 lights red until the week I traded it in.

First update since the site change!

Sometimes, tinting tail lights for certain cars is tough. Some black cars look too black with tinted lights, and some non-black cars look weird. Tough to say which tinting is overdoing something and which isn't.

Wake, you didn't buy your car with 278K miles and a moldy interior so bad that it made you truly sick. Then, you didn't make it all right again before tearing it down and covering it in primer a couple times. I do congratulate you on the effort, though. Better luck next time.
