Re: Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum
harofreak00 has them on his car and doesn't like them for poor snow performance. Dad absolutely won't do winter tires, as he is in the mindset that the only people who have them are old fogies who have had the same snow tires for the past 30 years on their 76 Impala, and he doesn't want to deal with switching every spring/fall, whether it's swapping rims, or mounting the tires on the current rims.
Bye Bye:

I'll probably just end up waiting the eight-week period for TR to replenish their stock of those Conti DWS', then go get a set.

I put General Altimax HP's on my 2000 SLE. I have about 3K miles on them and love them. I live in western SD where winter performance is a must have for tires and these deliver. Wet roads are no problem. They feel like studded tires if there is any snow on the road and do pretty well if it's icy too. They are the quietest tires I've run and they look cool to boot. I got the 235/55/R17 if I remember right, and they ended up being $126 each installed.

I put the Pirelli P Zero Nero M+S on and they handle well in the snow. Too bad they still do not have the special offer on Tire Rack for the 235 55 17.myfirstbonnie wrote:Last year we put a set of the Pirelli P Zero Nero on the 2k and they run really well. They are real good on wet roads too. Can't say about snow because it stays in the garage then. They have good feedback also on a few other sites.
