The carbon is making up for the tolerance stack up. It's not going to hurt to leave it there.

Guess I should have looked more closely at your pics.
Darnit, I know I shoulda just ordered those, oh well just a lil more money to UPS. Just placed order to Rolling Performance.

Is this the easiest way to remove the bearings or does someone have another suggestion...

RP ships via USPS, not UPS. And you'll have your bearings in a couple days. He's very quick.

Yes, that's the best technique. Collet-type slide-hammers aren't a gaurantee, and I've destroyed some bearings doing it that way, and had to resort to the old grease trick.

Keep in mind you MUST not drill through the bearing 'cup' or it won't work, and you'll need a long-shanked tap. The M90 is a bit more difficult in that it has a narrower and slightly deeper pocket to drill/tap in than the M62.

I had a friend weld an extension to a tap for this purpose. Keep in mind you need to pay attention to how deep they're pressed before you remove the old bearings, and press that deep when you put the new bearings in. It's usually a dime or penny thickness down from the back wall. You will need a press to install these, you can't just pound them in with a wood block. I use a properly sized socket, installed backwards on an extension, and a hydraulic press to install them. You will need to drill the holes larger, then tap. If you do the modified bolt technique, remember that you must not drill into the bearing cup, and you'll need a bottom-tap, not a tapered through tap.

RP suggests using a drilled bolt, but I use a NPT tap and pipe fitting with a 4" nipple and grease fitting. You can see how on my SC page:

http://www.3800supercharger.net/bearings.html

That's an M62, but I do the M90's the same way with the extended tap.

Excellentness, pictures help out alot! Good thing my work has a press. Oi! its crazy when you get into something and only expect to do so much, but you end up just trying to fix everything anyhow. Thank you for the help!

Don't forget the inlet of the M90 is at an angle. You'll have to shim it to get it to sit upright on the press.
